What is Storage Made Easy?
Storage Made Easy provide a multi-cloud data management and data protection product called the Enterprise File Fabric™ that unifies on-premises and on-cloud company storage assets. The File Fabric provides cloud like economics across a company's storage portfolio unlocking the benefits and cost-efficiency of their data assets, whilst providing strict controls and governance for legislative compliance and security concerns such as ransomware attacks. Existing site based storage infrastructures can be transformed into an on-premises private cloud, delivering a storage-as-a-service model to the company. Local storage can be connected to public clouds, expertly managed by the File Fabric as a unified hybrid cloud storage platform. The File Fabric solution offers a “blanket” that company's can privately apply to wrap around all their data?: on-premises, within a public cloud, or on a third party software vendors’ cloud (SharePoint or Salesforce for example). With GDPR bearing down on us we need to assess Windows File Server and Amazon S3 data for Personal Information. Found the SME guys and product works as advertised. After a (too) short trial, I signed up with a "lifetime" plan. Unfortunately, once I started backing up significant volumes of data, I started getting lots of errors about too many files being transferred, even though I was far below the limits of the plan in GB. When support got back to me, they explained that what I was really paying for was for them to provide a gateway to free, limited, unsupported Amazon S3 space. Total bait and switch. The service was completely unusable to me after support described what I had actually bought.

My experience with Storage Made Easy Storage Made Easy is a very good product, speeds are very good, the service is very stable, this is not the problem, the only thing is the lack of tech support, I have an paid account and they refuse to give me adequate tech support, they close almost each support ticket I open. Thanks to Javier, because he help me with a issue (its very rare I got issues with my account by the way) but another tech rep named Zim close all my ticket. I ask him if its too hard for him to gave me a reply. Surprisingly, he close the ticket. I didn 't says to stay away from this company, no, I just said if you need some help from support because your are not experienced in IT, its not a good idea to go with Storage Made Easy, if you are advanced in IT, go ahead with them!

The guys at SME asked me to write about my experience with them so happy to do so. We are using them as an Enterprise File Share and Sync on top of OpenStack Swift. We also had some professional services for some custom work that we needed for some internal systems that needed to connect to OpenStack, as well as some data migration to Swift from Isilon. We've had a good experience with SME to date. They are very receptive and Kamran and his PS team have always been there when we needed them so happy to recommend them.

SorageMadeEasy FTP service is pretty useless as you can't use it to transfer big files such as from DVR/Camera devices. Pay big attention on the real limited FTP services, because it's a paid service and they won't give your money back.
