What is Host-It?

We have been developing and hosting web sites and operating our own data centres since 1995. We have grown each year enabling us to remain profitable and financially stable whilst expanding the services and facilities we can offer. We are an ISO 27001 certified company with many years experience of both hosting and connectivity solutions. In June 2003 we acquired Computalynx a world renowned developer of email server and proxy server software and also much like Host-itβ„’ an ISP/hosting company. Computalynx was originally established in 1995, developing software and hosting/ISP solutions right from the very early days of the internet's commercial history and supplying solutions for household names such as NASA, Kennedy Space Centre, P&O, Walmart to name but a few. Host-itβ„’ and Computalynx were merged and structured under nuco technologies ltd.

Review Summary

Generated using AI from real user reviews

Host-It receives overwhelmingly positive reviews, though a small number of users report serious problems. The majority praise easy setup, responsive support, and affordable pricing, with many non-technical users noting the service was accessible to them. Customers highlight reliable uptime and improved site performance after switching.

However, three detailed negative reviews paint a starkly different picture. These users describe poor support coordination, with requests bouncing between staff members and resolutions taking multiple tickets. One developer reported difficulty obtaining basic access to server configuration files and database credentials, characterizing support as technically incompetent and unprofessional. Another customer experienced weeks of delay just gaining initial data centre access and had to visit the premises in person to correct setup errors. A third review references litigation against the company.

The contrast between these groups is sharp. Positive reviewers tend to be small business owners with basic hosting needs who valued the straightforward experience. Negative reviewers required more technical access and supportβ€”rack space or developer-level privilegesβ€”and encountered what they describe as significant communication and competence failures. The disparity suggests Host-It may work well for standard hosting but struggles with complex requests or technical users who need direct control.
