Five years running a solo document management practice on Rubex, and the product itself has genuinely grown on me. The automated filing rules save real time when I'm processing client contracts, and the folder templates mean I'm not rebuilding the same structure from scratch every engagement. For a one-person operation, those features carry a lot of weight.
Where it falls apart is support. I've logged tickets that sat unanswered for four or five business days, and twice I had to find workarounds on my own because nobody followed up at all. When I do reach someone, the help is decent enough, but getting there feels like luck rather than a system. The pricing also crept up at renewal without much notice, which stings when you're absorbing it solo. I wouldn't drop it tomorrow, but I'd tell anyone evaluating this to go in with low expectations on the support side and build your own troubleshooting notes from day one.
