Getting a CRM off the ground solo is usually where I lose a week to setup misery. Freshsales surprised me. The onboarding flow is genuinely well-paced, walking you through contact imports, pipeline stages, and basic automation without dumping everything on you at once. By day three I had real leads loaded, a couple of sequences running, and I actually felt oriented. That almost never happens on day three with software this full-featured.
The AI-assisted lead scoring clicked for me faster than I expected. I run a small book of business on my own, so I need prioritization help, not just a pretty list. Having the system surface who to call next, based on activity signals, cut down the mental overhead I usually spend on that decision every morning. Email tracking inside the CRM is tight, and the mobile app holds up well when I'm out of the office for half the day.
My one real gripe is the customer support experience during that first week. I hit a configuration snag with a custom field mapping and the chat response time was slow. Eventually an agent walked me through it, and the fix was simple, but I sat in limbo for a few hours before getting there. For a solo operator there's no teammate to unblock you while you wait. Six months in, the product itself earns the stars I'm giving it. The support response speed is the thing I'd tell them to fix before anything else.
