Decent reporting tools, but they come with some real asterisks. About a year into running BambooHR for a tiny team, I can say the dashboard gives me a clean overview of headcount, time-off balances, and turnover at a glance. That stuff is genuinely useful when I'm prepping for quarterly check-ins. The pre-built reports save time I don't have. But the moment I need something even slightly custom, like filtering by tenure and department together, I'm clicking through menus that feel built for a much larger HR operation. Exporting to CSV and massaging it in a spreadsheet shouldn't be my workaround on a paid platform.
Customer service has been hit or miss. One rep walked me through a reporting filter issue in ten minutes. Another told me to consult the help docs, which I'd already read. For a small team, the price point stings a little when the analytics depth doesn't fully justify it. If you're comfortable with surface-level dashboards and rarely need to drill down, this works fine. If you want to slice data your own way, temper your expectations.
