The dashboards alone justified switching. I came into Zoho Analytics skeptical, mostly because our five-person team had been limping along on spreadsheets and color-coded tabs for years, and I half-expected another tool that looked impressive in demos but crumbled in daily use. Six months later, I'm genuinely glad I was wrong.
The reporting side is where this thing earns its keep. Drag-and-drop chart building sounds basic until you realize you can go from raw CSV upload to a properly formatted pivot table in about ten minutes, with zero SQL required if you don't want it. But the SQL query option is there when I need something custom, and that flexibility matters. I've built out a weekly revenue dashboard and a separate one tracking project pipeline, both pulling from different sources, and they update without me touching anything. The collaborative sharing works well too. I can pass a live dashboard link to our director and she sees current data, not a screenshot from Tuesday.
If I'm being honest about the friction: the initial data connection setup for anything beyond flat files takes some patience. Their documentation is decent but occasionally feels written for a solo power user rather than someone juggling client calls at the same time. Customer support response time has been fine, not exceptional. Still, for what we pay at this team size, the value is hard to argue with. The reports I'm producing now would have taken me half a day in our old setup. Now it's closer to thirty minutes. That's the part I keep coming back to.
