Review Summary
Generated using AI from real user reviews
Inspectlet is a capable A/B testing tool that benefits most from its pairing of session recording and heatmaps with experiment data. Users find genuine value in watching actual user behaviour alongside test performance, which helps diagnose why variants succeed or fail rather than guessing at the cause. The platform delivers this core strength reliably over extended use.
The interface requires some adjustment and team onboarding does involve initial friction, particularly around experiment configuration, goal-setting, and segmentation. However, users report that the learning curve flattens quickly with repetition. Integration with existing analytics stacks is generally straightforward, though the JavaScript snippet setup can occasionally require support troubleshooting—which the vendor handles responsively.
The real differentiator appears to be the unified view of behavioural insights and test results, which appeals to smaller teams who lack budget for multiple specialist tools. This combination addresses a practical gap between traditional A/B testers and pure session-recording platforms, though the review suggests the product may be incomplete for larger operations with more complex needs.

“We've been using Inspectlet for A/B testing alongside its session…”
We've been using Inspectlet for A/B testing alongside its session recording and heatmap features for about eight months now, and overall it's been a solid addition to our optimisation toolkit. The ability to watch actual user sessions alongside test performance data is genuinely useful — when a variant underperforms, you're not left guessing why. You can literally watch where people are dropping off or getting confused.
Setting up tests isn't overly complicated, though the UI does take a bit of getting used to. A few of our team members found the experiment configuration a touch unintuitive at first, particularly around setting up goals and segmentation. Once you've done it a couple of times it clicks, but onboarding new people to it does require a bit of hand-holding.
The integration with our analytics stack was mostly painless. We had a minor hiccup getting the JavaScript snippet to play nicely with our tag manager, but support was responsive and helped us sort it out within a day.
Where I think Inspectlet really differentiates itself from pure-play A/B testing tools is that combination of behavioural data and test results in one place. For smaller teams who can't afford multiple specialist tools, that's a real advantage. However, if you're a large enterprise needing heavy statistical rigour, advanced multivariate testing, or deep personalisation capabilities, you may find it a bit limited.
Pricing is reasonable for what you get, and the value proposition is strong for mid-sized teams. Would recommend for teams wanting qualitative and quantitative testing insights without juggling five different tools.
