Review Summary
Generated using AI from real user reviews
GoToAssist appears to be a scam operation based on these reviews, not legitimate remote support software.
Both reviewers describe alarm tactics designed to panic users into calling a phone numberβfake virus warnings that escalate in severity, pressure to act immediately, and reluctance to provide verifiable company information. One reviewer noted the story shifted from virus detection to unauthorized access attempts when questioned. The second reviewer discovered the person on the phone was actually the source of the problem, suggesting a social engineering attack rather than genuine IT support.
Neither review treats this as a malfunctioning software product; both treat it as a scam targeting unsuspecting users. If you are researching remote support tools for legitimate business use, look elsewhere. If you received a similar unsolicited alert or call, it is almost certainly fraudulent.

Got a new computer, within 5 minutes the sound comes on. say's I got a virus, gives me some code and I'm told if I didn't call them right away or they would lock my computer to prevent contamination of the network. Called from work, they did not give me there website at first, took about 6 request. The condition went from virus to someone tried to access my computer. Reviewed their website, got the impression that they just wanted to get you in a panic and sign up.

This is obviously a scam. They tried to get me for 500.00 until I realized the person I was on the phone with was the one that was hacking my computer in the first place.
